TE Wire & Cable President Robert Canny appointed President of WCMA

On December 7th, 2017 in Hartford, CT the Wire & Cable Manufacturers Alliance, Inc. (WCMA) announced at its annual meeting changes to its Board of Directors and Officers, making the upcoming April 7th, 2018 WCMA Distinguished Career Award a significant event for our organization. The TE Wire & Cable team would like to congratulate our very own Robert Canny on becoming President of the WCMA. Robert Canny is known by all who attend WCMA due to his engaging personality and endless stories spanning over 38 years in the aerospace wire and cable manufacturing. 

 

Robert or Bob as he is widely known by his employees and friends is currently the President of the world’s largest thermocouple wire manufacturer, TE Wire & Cable and additionally, has direct responsibility for CCPI-Europe Ltd. which is located in Sheffield, UK.  However, when becoming president of two companies is not enough, Mr. Canny adds to his portfolio and will utilize his 38 years of aerospace knowledge in leading Harbour Industries as President taking over from Joe Hennessy. With his retirement, Joe concludes a distinguished 37 year career in the wire and cable industry that includes 22 years with Harbour Industries, 25 of which were as part of The Marmon Group. TE Wire & Cable, CCP-Europe Ltd., and Harbour Industries are a part of Marmon Wire & Cable/Berkshire Hathaway Company.

WCMA

Wire & Cable Manufacturers’ Alliance (WCMA) is a CT 501 c(6) non-profit business association serving the manufacturers of low to high voltage electrical, electronic and fiber optic wire and cable with an established manufacturing base located in North America.  Membership includes producers of signal and current-carrying wire and fiber, producers of bulk cables, and wire and cable processors and fabricators. WCMA produces premier events that bring owners, executives, and key managers together for networking, the exchange of information, and to promote the wire and cable industry. The Wire & Cable Manufacturers' Alliance was established in June 2004, as the successor organization to the Wire & Cable Clubs of America.

 

WCMA continues, and has added to, the activities of the Clubs, which began hosting its business and social gatherings in the early 1980's, under the direction of the late Dick and Harriet Callahan, publishers of Wire Industry News.
